The Beetle

The Beetle

"Damp brown dirt ripples gently

Swelling into rounded curve s

Malleable contours and flowing lines

A languidly reclining, breathing creature

Gossamer webs shimmer gently

Blinking in the nascent light of dawn

Mossy green adorns the warming russet

Crowing the head of earth

Soft as the clouds floating above

Fine as white dandelions

Festooning the swaying meadow

Glossy sepia heads brush inquiringly

Overhanging blades of green

Lo! The ground yawns, cavity gaping open

Hollow eyes collapse

Into misshapen nostrils

The glazed back of a beetle

Surges to the surface"

WINNIE! speak to me...
